The problem
An advisory firm's succession plans aren't listed anywhere for sale. The closest public signal is what firms disclose in SEC filings — spread across an 81 MB firm feed, monthly ADV filing data, an individual-level feed, and thousands of Part 2 brochures that occasionally mention succession language in plain prose.
Reading all of that by hand, for every firm nationwide, isn't realistic. The useful list only exists after every filing has been pulled apart and reassembled into one market anyone can query.
Once it's assembled, someone still has to trust any one number in it enough to act on it — which means being able to trace a field back to the filing it came from, not just seeing the number on a screen.

How it's built
Built from public SEC Investment Adviser filings: the full IA firm feed (an 81 MB XML feed), the monthly ADV filing data, the individual IAPD feed, and 1,200+ ADV Part 2 brochures parsed for succession language. Public filings, plus a small number of direct contacts — powerful market intelligence, sourced from public filings.
Every field carries its own trail. data_lineage and processing_log tables exist so any number on screen can be traced back to the exact filing it came from — not just asserted, but shown.
